About

Hi everyone! My name is Matt.

In 2017, I was working for a large retailer in their IT department. Our offices were located in downtown Seattle next to Pike Place market and we had panoramic views of the city. On lunch, I’d walk around the city or go to the market and watch tourists throw fish. Things were going great.

In August of 2017, my wife and I took our first trip to Europe. We went to several cities in Ireland, England, France and the Netherlands. It was the coolest trip ever and I couldn’t wait to get back and tell my collogues about our trip.

When I got back to the office, I was so excited to talk about my vacation that I didn’t realize my laptop was missing. That’s when I noticed, their faces didn’t share the same excitement as mine. They knew corporate downsizing had found its way to our department and I no longer had a job.

I spent the next week doing what a lot of recently unemployed people do. I laid in bed, watched TV, and sent my friends messages like, “How’s work… I wouldn’t know.” Lol!  But more importantly, within that week I came across this quote:

“Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.”

-Steve Jobs

That quote inspired me to take action. I started by writing down what my ideal dream job would be. When I felt discouraged, I just told myself I’d break the impossible into smaller manageable pieces. And that’s when I got the idea for justmakeawebsite.com.

After building justmakeawebsite.com, I realized that other people had dreams too. Behind most small business, blog, portfolio or personal websites is a dream. A dream that gave people the motivation to create those sites and share them with the world.

I’d be willing to bet you have dreams too. And that you might want to make a website and share those dreams with the world.

It’s my mission to help you create that website. I’ve taken my experiences and created tutorials to help you get up and running as soon as possible. My tutorials are constantly updated and simplified to remove any complexity.
